The Federal Government wants an aid program that aims to preserve apprenticeships. The aim is to prevent young people’s professional future from being jeopardized. This week, the Federal Cabinet is to provide advice for the first time on a key point paper “Securing training positions”. The volume of aid is said to be up to 500 million Euros. For apprentices in small and medium-sized companies with up to 249 employees who are “significantly” affected by the corona crisis, 2,000 to 3,000 Euros each should be made available. Aid is also to be paid if companies take on trainees from insolvent companies and also if short-time work is avoided.
