(de-news.net) – In 2024, the Federal Police documented a significant reduction in unauthorized entries, registering approximately 83,000 individuals as opposed to nearly 130,000 in 2023. Over half of those apprehended were either turned back at the border or intercepted in relation to illegal border crossings.
An attempt at unauthorized entry is defined by the police as the act of crossing the border by foreigners lacking a valid residence permit. According to the federal government, rejections are permissible solely if the individual does not express an asylum request, originates from a safe country of origin, or is subject to a re-entry ban.
