(de-news.net) – A mental health prevention initiative instituted by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs has demonstrated positive outcomes within schools. According to a study conducted by the University of Leipzig, stakeholders including coaches, school administrators, students, and organizational representatives expressed considerable satisfaction with the program, which commenced at the onset of the 2023/24 academic year. Specifically, 83% of school administrators assessed the program’s acceptance as good to very good, and 90% expressed satisfaction with the collaborative efforts. Additionally, 97% of students surveyed across 16 schools evaluated the program favorably, with 86% endorsing its continuation.
The Mental Health Coaches initiative aims to fortify students’ mental well-being and resilience. Coaches drawn from the disciplines of social work, education, and psychology provide preventive services across approximately 100 schools in Germany. The program’s future continuity is contingent upon this year’s federal budget allocations.
