Bundestag: energy package approved by multiple parties

(de-news.net) – The Bundestag has approved an energy package involving several legislative amendments. These changes include extended support for combined heat and power (CHP) plants, adjustments to wind energy expansion, and initiatives to better equip the power grid for the rapid growth of solar installations.

The SPD, Greens, and CDU/CSU agreed on these measures, which also received support from the Left and BSW. The package still requires approval from the Bundesrat.

CHP plants are efficient and environmentally friendly, utilizing waste heat from electricity production. The amendments also address wind and solar power regulations, including restrictions on wind turbine construction outside priority areas and market sale requirements for medium-sized solar installations.
