Official final results of the Bundestag election announced (Update)

(de-news.net) – The electoral districts for the Bundestag election have been tallied. The Federal Returning Officer announced that the CDU/CSU has decisively won the re-election, as part of the preliminary official final results. Neither the FDP nor the BSW have secured any seats in the Bundestag.

The CDU/CSU obtained 28.6% of the vote, while the AfD received 20.6%, the SPD 16.4%, the Greens 11.6%, and the Left Party 8.8%. The BSW missed entry into the Bundestag with 4.9%, and the FDP with 4.3%. The SSW, due to a special regulation, is represented in the Bundestag with 0.2% of the vote, and other parties collectively received 9.4%.

Of the total 630 seats in the German Bundestag, the Union will – according to media reports – hold 208 seats, the AfD 151, the SPD 121, the Greens 85, and the Left Party 64. The SSW secures one seat.

Thus, a black-red coalition of the CDU with the SPD would have a majority. The Union has ruled out a coalition with the AfD. The overall voter turnout was 82.5%, after 76,4% in the 2021 Bundestag election.
