Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) has called the AfD party a “corona denier” engaging in mood work in times of crisis. First off, the AfD called for ever tougher steps against the Coronavirus. Now it is the other way round, Spahn said. This shows that factual policy is not among the goals of the AfD, he added.

Spahn emphasized that the crisis had created a sense of community after years in which society had been polarized, most recently with regard to climate policy. One should lead social discussions in such a way that they bring people together.
