Karliczek preparing broader all-day financing law

Federal Science Minister Anja Karliczek (CDU) wants to use “considerably more” money for full-day expansion at primary schools. In November, the federal government decided to allocate 2 billion Euros to the said expansion. Karliczek now wants to double this.

It is extremely important that children are well looked after while their parents are at work. A broader all-day program would provide families with prospects. Karliczek’s proposal is to be discussed in the German cabinet on June 2, when the federal investment program against the effects of the Corona pandemic will be on the agenda.

Karliczek expects the SPD to approve and appealed to the federal states represented in the Federal Council to agree to the all-day financing law in the upcoming vote. Karliczek plans to implement the all-day financing program beginning in the next couple of months.
