Habeck suggests more funding for young people

Green party leader Robert Habeck campaigns for short-time work allowance for trainees – from day one instead of after six weeks, as is currently the case. The state should completely replace net shortfalls in remuneration, Habeck said.

In addition, Habeck proposed emergency aid to be set up for students. With that money, they could cover their costs when enrolled at universities. Solidarity is due to young people just as much as it is due to older people since the young are politically mature, the politician said. For that reason, they deserve recognition by way of a payment of up to 450 Euros, Habeck reclaimed. Finally, for sectors particularly affected by the Corona crisis, the state should take a share of companies’ training allowance.
