Habeck proposes right to vote from the age of 16

The Green leader Robert Habeck wants to grant a right to vote for young people from the age of 16, for the next federal elections already. This should allow more democratic participation for young people. Habeck emphasized that the youth had shown a sense of responsibility in the corona crisis. “We have to recognize this political maturity.” Habeck appealed to the ministers of culture to reopen daycare centers and schools as soon as possible, allowing for “limited regular operations” of the facilities.
