Risks remain despite lifting of travel warning

Minister of the Chancellor’s Office Helge Braun (CDU) has warned of risks after the lifting of travel warnings for numerous countries by the Foreign Office. If vacationers infected with a hotspot spread out in Germany, nationwide measures could quickly become necessary again. In this context, Braun called the Corona warning app useful. It allowed people to receive a notification when they come into contact with person infected by the Coronavirus.

The travel warning will no longer apply to most Schengen countries, except to Sweden, Norway and Finland. There also remains a travel warning for Spain. The Balearic Islands, for which there is a pilot project, have been exempt.
