(GermanPolicy.com) – In his Christmas address, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has called for society to stand together in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Steinmeier said: “We are one country.” Even after the pandemic, people had to be able to live together and look each other in the eye – despite the uncertainties and fears that currently dominate life in many cases, he pointed out. Freedom of expression regarding alienation after two years of Covid-19 is respected in Germany. Steinmeier suggested that one should rethink trust, freedom and responsibility. Restrictions could be a guarantee of freedom because they protect the freedom of many other people in Germany.
