Sales ban on New Year’s Eve bollards will lead to fewer fireworks

(GermanPolicy.com) – New sets of New Years Eve fireworks have not been sold this year in Germany, so that there will be fewer bollards at the dawn of this weekend. The nationwide sales ban on New Year’s Eve fireworks, which had already been decreed the previous year, was confirmed by the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court. Several urgent requests were thus rejected. Earlier, the Berlin Administrative Court had approved the regulation.

The Federal Council had published an ordinance in order to make a significant contribution to relieving the burden on clinics in Germany. Manufacturers, importers and wholesalers of fireworks should, in turn, receive financial relief from January 1 to March 2022 as part of the so-called Bridging Aid IV.
