(GermanPolicy.com) – Contrary to initial plans, the short-time allowance will be extended beyond the month of March. From April, the Federal Government is going to be able to order that employers can be reimbursed proportionately for contributions regarding the allowance. This requires amendments to the Social Security Code III and the Temporary Employment Act. The reason for the reversal are the consequences of the war in Ukraine. So far, employers have had half of their contributions subsidized.
The two Union parties welcomed the plans because they offer planning security. In the future, a reimbursement should also be possible by legal ordinance of the federal government in the case of “extraordinary circumstances from the labor market” without the need for the legislative approval.
