(GermanPolicy.com) – The Federal Government would like to grant subsidies of up to five billion Euros to entrepreneurs who are particularly hard hit by the situation in Ukraine. Loans can be taken up to a total of 100 billion Euros. The liquidity protection through loans from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau amounts to seven billion Euros. In addition, federal guarantees are intended to ensure the security of companies. The stock exchanges, among other things, require such collateral.
The Federal Government had previously ruled out general aid because of the rise in energy prices. Nevertheless, according to an SPD spokesman, energy-intensive economic sectors are being supported. Media reports said the government were working “under high pressure” on the relief package for companies, including with the help of the Economic Stabilization Fund. Besides the new package, the bridging aid against the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic is to be extended until the end of June.
