Citizens and companies are unsettled because of the record inflation. Therefore, the discussion is going in the wrong direction, said the vice-chairman of the Union parliamentary group, Middelberg.

Green party leader Lang had brought a new tax into play on Monday. Middelberg emphasized that Lang had not recognized “the signs of the times.” It is not about an additional burden, but about targeted relief for affected citizens and companies that are no longer able to shoulder the energy prices.
