(de-news.net) – Germany has started a new political initiative, and several states, all of them with ambitious climate goals, have joined it: The ‘Climate Club’ was formed during the UN conference in Dubai.
At the very start, Chancellor Scholz emphasized that it was crucial to develop the right strategies and standards in order to achieve an industry without carbon and, thus, to identify lead markets for industrial products that are climate-neutral. This should happen through an exchange of goods, knowledge and technologies – without creating competition with the UN climate process or the Paris climate protection agreement. The climate club, which has 36 members, is chaired by Germany and Chile.
