CDU leader Merz advocates for stability

(de-news.net) – The Union parties’ Chancellor candidate, Merz (CDU), has admonished the SPD against disseminating misinformation regarding his candidacy. He assured that under his leadership, there would be no reductions in pensions nor an increase in the retirement age beyond 67. Speaking at a CDU event in Schmallenberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Merz asserted that any claims to the contrary are misleading. He emphasized that the Union aims to terminate the economic and political instability engendered by the SPD-led government.

As Chancellor after the coming elections, Merz committed to a fundamental policy transformation, prioritizing reasonable frameworks and incentives for citizens and businesses over state-imposed regulations. He cautioned that failure to deliver by the next government could result in populists from both the left and right ascending to power in 2029. During the event, Merz was also elected as the CDU’s direct candidate for the Bundestag election in the Hochsauerland district.
