(de-news.net) – The proportion of women occupying top academic positions in Germany has experienced an incremental increase over the past year. According to the Federal Statistical Office, approximately 15,000 full-time female professors were employed at universities last year, comprising 29 percent of the total. The numbers reflect a one percentage point increase from the previous year. In the humanities, women constitute 43 percent of professorships, whereas in engineering, the figure stands at a low of 16 percent. The data hence reveal notable disparities across various disciplines.
