(de-news.net) – Following the fall of the Assad regime, Hannah Neumann, the Green Party’s foreign policy spokesperson in the European Parliament, has emphasized the necessity for flexible exceptions that would allow Syrians to support the establishment of a democratic government and reconstruction efforts in Syria without jeopardizing their asylum status in Germany or other EU countries. Without such exceptions, affected individuals risk being unable to return to their families in Europe.
Neumann stressed the need for a unified EU stance on providing humanitarian aid and supporting Syrians. She highlighted the importance of engaging with all parties willing to contribute to Syria’s future and work towards a democratic and safe Syria, particularly for women and minorities.
