Söder: coalition with SPD “very difficult”

(de-news.net) – CSU leader Markus Söder finds a coalition with the SPD after the Bundestag election “very difficult,” but does not entirely rule it out. He emphasized in a TV interview that such a coalition would only be feasible without Olaf Scholz, whom he criticized for his recent performance. Söder rejects any collaboration with the Greens, criticizing their policies under Robert Habeck as excessively left-leaning.

Regarding his own political future, Söder ruled out a ministerial role in federal politics. Instead, he aims to play a significant role in the coalition committee as party chairman and Minister-President.
