The agreement encompasses “platform-neutral media rights for all 51 matches,” as stated by the broadcasters. The acquisition of these rights ensued from a tender process conducted by UEFA through the joint sports rights agency, SportA, and remains contingent upon the approval of the pertinent ARD and ZDF committees, which is however anticipated to be a mere formality.

Furthermore, ARD and ZDF will retain the broadcasting rights for additional matches involving the DFB team until 2028. This includes those within the UEFA Nations League, as well as preparatory and qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
