Security laws to be introduced by the SPD

(de-news.net) – SPD General Secretary Matthias Miersch has announced that the SPD would present additional security laws in the Bundestag this week, seeking discussions with other democratic factions. Miersch mentioned that the SPD would introduce laws on expanded powers for the Federal Police and on the implementation of European asylum reform, which he said had previously been rejected or deemed non-urgent by the CDU/CSU. Miersch also highlighted the SPD-led government’s achievements, such as facilitating deportations, introducing border controls, and reducing asylum numbers.
