SPD to submit own proposals on migration to the Bundestag

(de-news.net) – The SPD has announced the intention to introduce their own proposals on migration policy in the parliament, following the CDU/CSU’s suggestions for changes in asylum and residence law. These proposals include accelerating asylum procedures and establishing agreements with countries of origin. Additionally, the SPD plans to bring parts of its security package and the Federal Police Law to a vote in the Bundestag. The Union parties had complained about the lack of finalized drafts for the government’s security package, while the SPD accused the CDU and CSU of blocking these initiatives. SPD General Secretary Matthias Miersch warned Merz against accepting the votes of the AfD, describing it as an unprecedented breach of taboo.
