(de-news.net) – According to Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Katherina Reiche (CDU), the Federal Cabinet is set to introduce an initial relief package for businesses by mid-July. The package will encompass early labor market reforms and a reduction in electricity taxes. Reiche made these remarks at the East German Economic Forum in Bad Saarow.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil (SPD) intends to present the draft of the 2025 federal budget by June, along with key parameters for 2026. As per a circular addressed to other ministries, the draft is scheduled to be submitted to the Federal Cabinet on June 25, followed by its first reading in the Bundestag in early July. Given the timeline for the budget approvals — mid-September in the Bundestag and late September in the Bundesrat — budget policymakers will dedicate time to reviewing the proposal during the summer recess, with expedited procedures and special committee sessions.
