CDU leaders call for deportation of foreign offenders

(de-news.net) – In light of the growing incidence of knife-related crimes in Germany, the CDU/CSU parliamentary group advocates for the systematic deportation of foreign offenders. Alexander Throm (CDU), the spokesperson for internal affairs, stated in an interview that police statistics indicate a predominance of perpetrators from non-German cultural backgrounds. The new government has agreed to introduce mandatory deportation provisions in residence law for violent offenders, ensuring the automatic revocation of residency rights for severe offenses against life and bodily integrity.

In a similar vein, Marc Henrichmann (CDU) emphasized prioritizing perpetrators rather than weapons, advocating for bans targeting extremists and criminals instead of bureaucratic restriction zones. He also called for expanded police authority over known offenders. Finally, Herbert Reul (CDU), North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister of the Interior, warned of the societal threat posed by knives, expressing concern over their increasing use, particularly among younger individuals. He underscored the urgency of discouraging the normalization of carrying knives in public for self-defense or status display.
