(de-news.net) – The President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Peter Leibinger, has conveyed a favorable assessment of the current federal coalition, commending its promising initial performance and its commitment to implementing pertinent administrative and fiscal reforms. He emphasized that the government’s efforts to address challenges with transparency and cohesion contributed to the cultivation of public confidence.
Expressing a tempered optimism regarding the Federal Republic’s economic trajectory, Leibinger identified emerging indicators of improvement. Drawing upon historical precedents such as the post-war establishment of food reserves and strategic provisions for energy supplies, he advocated for enhanced systemic resilience. He underscored the necessity of equitable cooperation between the state and private enterprise, proposing analogous contingency mechanisms for additional categories of goods deemed critical to the national economy.
Furthermore, Leibinger called upon policymakers to accord heightened priority to sectors of strategic importance. He urged a collaborative initiative involving governmental, academic, and industrial stakeholders to delineate a selection of seven to ten domains in which Germany might develop distinctive competencies. In this context, he identified artificial intelligence in the field of automation technology as a salient area for advancement, while deliberately excluding consumer-focused digital services from such strategic considerations.
