(de-news.net) – Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD) has indicated that the federal government intends to renew the ‘Pact for the Rule of Law’ in the coming year, reflecting an intensified commitment to fortifying legal institutions. She indicated that the Länder are projected to receive approximately 500 million euros over a four-year period, thereby doubling previous funding allocations, with the objective of enhancing judicial capacity and advancing digital modernization.
Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) underscored the imperative of ensuring accountability for individuals engaging in societal fraud. He asserted the necessity of equipping prosecutorial authorities adequately to enable effective enforcement against fiscal malfeasance.
According to estimates provided by the Ministry of Justice, a total of 240 million euros is slated for allocation within the current legislative period to reinforce judicial staffing, disbursed in two tranches scheduled for 2026 and 2028. Additionally, a further 210 million euros is earmarked for the expedited implementation of digital infrastructure from 2027 to 2029, subject to collaborative arrangements with the Länder to determine precise deployment modalities.
