(de-news.net) – The Deutschlandticket, a nationwide public transport initiative, has been instrumental in facilitating equitable and streamlined access to regional mobility services across Germany. Recognised for its contribution to cost-effective and user-friendly transportation, the scheme has garnered political commitment for its continuation. The Federal Government has declared its intention to maintain the programme and, toward this end, has proposed an allocation of 1.5 billion euros for the forthcoming fiscal year.

This financial commitment is delineated in a draft amendment to the Regionalisation Act, which sets out the procedural and budgetary framework necessary for the ticket’s extension. The proposed legislation operationalises stipulations already embedded within the coalition agreement, thereby ensuring the Deutschlandticket remains valid beyond its current term, extending through the calendar year 2026.

The draft further asserts that both federal and state-level administrations are expected to contribute 1.5 billion euros respectively on an annual basis to sustain the programme’s infrastructure and accessibility. The coordinated funding model reflects broader policy objectives concerning sustainable urban mobility, social inclusivity, and environmental stewardship.
