(de-news.net) – During ongoing deliberations on social reform, Klaus Holetschek, Chairman of the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian Landtag, has proposed the introduction of compulsory personal savings accounts. He emphasized the importance of reassessing the structure of social provisions by fostering individual responsibility and reducing reliance on state support. To ensure the prioritization of essential welfare services and the provision of targeted assistance to those genuinely in need, Holetschek advocated for a mandatory savings scheme—state-backed and incentivized through tax benefits for all residents.
Concurrently, the SPD parliamentary group advanced proposals aimed at establishing a more equitable healthcare system. Deputy Chair Dagmar Schmidt underscored that meaningful reform necessitates sustained effort rather than rhetorical commitments. She highlighted inefficiencies in healthcare expenditure, noting that despite substantial costs, access to medical appointments remains limited. Schmidt referenced existing initiatives such as hospital reform and expressed her expectation that these measures be implemented consistently, alongside further progress in restructuring outpatient care.
