Germany launches expert council to oversee multi-billion infrastructure fund

(de-news.net) – Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) has instituted an Investment and Innovation Advisory Council to oversee the strategic allocation of Germany’s multibillion-euro special infrastructure fund. The initiative, as articulated by Klingbeil, reflects a firm commitment to enhancing the nation’s long-term sustainability and economic resilience. While the requisite financial resources are in place, Klingbeil emphasized that successful implementation will require meticulous coordination and governance.

The newly constituted council will comprise a cohort of distinguished professionals tasked with advancing innovation and investment in accordance with the fund’s objectives. Their mandate includes the formulation and evaluation of strategic plans designed to stimulate enduring economic growth. To uphold principles of transparency and accountability, the council will issue biannual reports detailing its recommendations and assessments of investment progress. These reports will also encompass targeted proposals for growth-oriented policy measures. According to Minister Klingbeil, the chairmanship of the advisory body will be assumed by entrepreneur Harald Christ.
