Klüssendorf (SPD) urges investment in labor integration

(de-news.net) – SPD General Secretary Klüssendorf has advocated for increased financial resources for job centers to enhance the integration of unemployed individuals into the labor market. He emphasized that current measures are inadequate and called for expanded qualification and reintegration programs. In the previous fiscal year, 3.8 billion euros was allocated to support Bürgergeld recipients.

Klüssendorf expressed confidence that the black-red coalition would implement overdue social reforms aimed at securing the long-term viability of Germany’s welfare systems. He cited Labor Minister Bas’s (SPD) proposal to incorporate civil servants and the self-employed into the statutory pension scheme. In contrast, Chancellor Merz has asserted that the population had been living beyond its means, with the CDU/CSU urging reductions in social expenditures.

Sociologist Aladin El-Mafaalani proposed the systematic inclusion of retirees in the educational sector, citing persistent staffing shortages in schools and kindergartens. He argued that the current generation of retirees possesses the cognitive and physical capacity to contribute meaningfully.
