According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the coronavirus reproduction number “R” remains situated below the critical threshold of 1.0. The new “7-day R” is currently at 0.88, said the RKI.
In future, the institute will publish this new “7-day-R”. The value represents a better compensation for fluctuations, the RKI explained.
The reproduction number was an essential criterion for relaxing contact restrictions. There are currently 172,239 confirmed Covid-19 cases within the country.
