The Bundestag has shown solidarity with the World Health Organization (WHO). According to a Bundestag decision, which was supported by almost all political groups, the WHO should be strengthened. The aim is to mobilize more funding in the form of mandatory contributions from WHO members. The Union parties and the SPD had submitted a motion for such a resolution, of which the goal is to do more for global health. The federal government should now campaign for a stronger WHO. The SPD deputy Heike Baehrens spoke out against “national reflexes”. There has been vocal criticism of WHO about failing in the Corona crisis.
