Scholz (SPD) wants traffic light coalition “as soon as possible”

(GermanPolicy.com) – The SPD candidate for the office of Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, would like “to coordinate discussions very quickly with the other parties with whom we want to form a government”. Scholz said after a meeting of the SPD presidium that he intended to enter into a government with the Greens and the FDP “as soon as possible.” He wants to keep explorations short and soon move on to coalition negotiations. Scholz had previously emphasized in the Willy Brandt House: “Three parties won yesterday and thus received an order to govern: the SPD, the Greens and the FDP.” There are “overlaps” with the two previous opposition parties, Scholz said.
