Greens’ congress votes for coalition negotiations

(GermanPolicy.com) – At a small party congress, the Greens have approved coalition negotiations with the SPD and FDP. Greens chairman Habeck said before the so-called state council that the exploratory paper previously presented jointly with the SPD and the FDP stands for a policy “in line with the times.” The Greens did not prevail with a speed limit or an increase in the top tax rate, Habeck deplored. However, the party now had to prove responsibility for major transformation tasks. The former Chancellor candidate of the Greens, Baerbock, announced that climate protection would be negotiated very hard.
