(GermanPolicy.com) – Leading politicians of the CDU have campaigned for a women’s quota to be quickly introduced in the party. Among them are Minister of Education Karliczek and the Vice-Chairwoman of the CDU, Klöckner. Chancellor Angela Merkel had also advocated more applications from women in party offices. At the next federal party conference of the CDU, at least 40 percent of the party offices could be filled by women. “If one wants to be a people’s party, one has to get close to parity,” Merkel explained.
