The meeting sent out a “good signal for Glasgow.” The final document for the G20 summit states that climate neutrality is to be achieved “by the middle of the century.” This is of central importance. In order to intensify efforts, the industrialized countries with the highest economic performance are to stop financing new coal-fired power plants by the end of the year. The states also committed to the Paris 1.5 degree target.
