(GermanPolicy.com) – The Corona emergency brake with exit and contact restrictions was proportionate in view of the dangerous situation in Germany, the Federal Constitutional Court announced in a judgment. The judges do not deny that the measures against the Corona pandemic had significantly interfered with fundamental rights. Nevertheless, the measures were legal. The Federal Emergency Brake was in force from the end of April to the end of June. There had been several constitutional complaints against the brake which comprised contact restrictions, night curfews, and school closings.
