(GermanPolicy.com) – Deutsche Post reported a parcel boom on Christmas Eve which was celebrated yesterday: The quantities of gift parcels were roughly at the level of 2020, after the demand on Black Friday and Cyber Monday was even stronger than a year ago. Clothing in particular, with around 50 percent of all online transactions from around 80 percent of Germans between 16 and 74 years of age, was ordered online, according to the Federal Statistical Office – followed by films and music, as well as by food.
Meanwhile, the ADAC expects more traffic than in the previous year, because trips and visits to relatives are again permitted contrary to 2020 when avoiding risk areas. Numerous returnees will also drive on the streets on boxing day this Sunday. However, Federal Transport Minister Wissing (FDP) has warned to be careful: the hygiene regulations should be observed, masks should be worn, and one should run a test concerning Covid-19, when possible.
