Calls to embrace Union parties’ vaccination law

(GermanPolicy.com) – The CDU-CSU has called on the traffic light coalition partners to agree to a compromise on a preventive vaccination law “that has been on the table for weeks” as a compromise to a general obligation to vaccinate. The health policy spokesman for the Union faction, Sorge (CDU), explained that the offer from SPD chairwoman Esken was a tactic to distract from the fact that the governing parties could not get their own majority together. The CDU will not become the majority procurer of a blanket vaccination requirement from the age of 18, Sorge pointed out. The Vaccination Prevention Act is the coordinated position of the CDU and CSU and “unanimously.” There are currently no signs that there will still be a majority for the SPD draft in the Bundestag.
