Primarily women, children and elderly refugees from Ukraine

(GermanPolicy.com) – To date, the Federal Police have counted 357,253 Ukrainian refugees in Germany, according to the Federal Ministry of the Interior. These are primarily women, children and elderly. However, the number of unreported cases is likely to be higher. This is because controls cannot be carried out perfectly consistently at the border. Nevertheless, the police are also carrying out significantly more checks on trains and at train stations. More refugees are expected to arrive in Germany in the near future. According to the United Nations, more than 4.8 million people have fled to Ukraine’s neighboring countries so far.
