(GermanPolicy.com) – The CDU has presented the draft of a charter of basic values, which is intended to place the party at the center of society. The new party program is to be written in 2024 on the basis of the charter. With the charter, CDU chairman Merz wants to represent both stability and social change. The party’s Christian-social, liberal and conservative roots are emphasized. On the other hand, there is an accent on climate protection within the framework of a social, but also ecological, market economy. The CDU distances itself from libertarian individualism as well as from ethnic thinking, for example from the group of lateral thinkers. After all, the Christian Democrats want to become more attractive to women, sophisticated people and people with a migration background.
