CDU/CSU wants to reform Deutsche Bahn from the bottom up

(de-news.net) – The Union is advocating for comprehensive reforms at Deutsche Bahn. Ulrich Lange, the deputy leader of the Union parliamentary group, conveyed that a thorough restructuring of Deutsche Bahn is imperative to enhance rail performance. In response to critical remarks from EVG leader Martin Burkert, Lange asserted that numerous measures within the existing DB structures over the past two decades have not yielded success. Lange underscored the necessity for an alternative approach, proposing the segregation of infrastructure and transport sectors, and the reestablishment of federal responsibility for the rail network. Lange extended an invitation to Burkert to contribute to the formulation of the transition period.
