(de-news.net) – The Federal Government intends to swiftly implement relief measures for businesses and initiate additional, key reform projects—some of which are scheduled to commence as early as this summer.
Progress will now proceed in rapid succession, clarified Federal Chancellor and Chair of the CDU, Friedrich Merz. In the coming months, decisions are expected regarding tax relief measures and the reduction of bureaucratic obstacles. With regard to business relief, Merz noted that large-scale depreciation allowances would be enabled, approval procedures would be expedited, and a high-tech agenda would be launched.
The government aims to “pick up considerable speed,” stated Lars Klingbeil, Minister of Finance and chair of the SPD, following the first meeting of the coalition committee.
Markus Söder, Chair of the CSU, reaffirmed, among other points, that the increase in the commuter allowance and the reduction of the value-added tax (VAT) on restaurant meals are to take effect on 1 January 2026.
