(de-news.net) – Deutsche Bahn has announced its intention to comprehensively modernize an additional 100 railway stations this year as part of its ongoing infrastructure rehabilitation program. According to the corporation, all designated stations will undergo complete redesign in accordance with standardized criteria. The implementation of alternative organizational systems is planned to facilitate improved passenger distribution along the platforms. Accessibility remains a central consideration across all modernization measures.
In the preceding year, 113 stations were reportedly refurbished. In total, measures are now planned for approximately 950 stations. Furthermore, the rail network itself—described as both outdated and overburdened—is scheduled for phased rehabilitation to ensure long-term functionality and capacity.
