The German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, thanked the Muslims for the prudent behavior they showed during the Corona pandemic, in a message at the end of Ramadan.

In a greeting, Steinmeier regretted the restrictions on religious life caused by the pandemic. Christians and Jews also shared the experience of restrictions. Common prayers and breaking the fast were only possible to a limited extent for Muslims in 2020.
