But let us be considerate and respect the need to protect others.” The minimum distance of 1.5 meters, using mouth-nose protection and compliance with hygiene rules are the starting point for the fact that restrictions of the freedom of movement have been lifted. “I hope we can take many more steps without rekindling the infections. If we remain courageous and vigilant, we could accomplish that,” said Merkel.

In several cities within Germany, people demonstrated against the corona measures this weekend, but fewer demonstrators than announced showed up. Smaller groups of protesters gathered in streets of Berlin, Stuttgart, Cologne and Munich, for example.
