Beginning next week, harvest helpers from the European Schengen countries are again allowed to enter Germany without restrictions, but under strict hygiene rules. Entry is possible again from June 16. The seasonal workers should live together, and work, in fixed teams, observing distance rules. If Corona infections occur, the entire team must be isolated. By mid-June, only 80,000 seasonal workers had been allowed to enter Germany, but less than half of the quota has been exhausted so far. In comparison, in 2019, some 300,000 seasonal workers had worked in agriculture.
