(GermanPolicy.com) – The draft of the new federal budget includes expenditures of 458 billion Euros. New debt is 100 billion Euros, and the special fund for the Bundeswehr encompasses an additional 100 billion Euros. This was said by Federal Finance Minister Lindner (FDP) during a presentation in the German Bundestag.
The necessary expenses incurred as a result of the war in Ukraine have not yet been planned. Lindner emphasized that state finances should be consolidated with the budget and that buffers should be expanded.
The CDU and CSU parliamentary group criticized that the two percent target for defense policy was not being met. The consent of both parties is necessary for the anchoring of the special fund in the Basic Law. In addition, the faction of the Union parties called for a reduction in VAT and mineral oil tax.
