He rejected subsidies on fossil energy on the grounds that the goal of climate neutrality was important. Federal Finance Minister Lindner (FDP) had previously proposed a tank discount. Scholz further emphasized the heating subsidy should be doubled. He spoke out against stopping the import of fossil energy from Russia.
