Scholz against permanent subsidies for fossil fuels

(GermanPolicy.com) – Chancellor Scholz (SPD) has stressed in the German Bundestag that there should be no overturning of the market mechanisms in view of the high fuel prices. He rejected subsidies on fossil energy on the grounds that the goal of climate neutrality was important. Federal Finance Minister Lindner (FDP) had previously proposed a tank discount. Scholz further emphasized the heating subsidy should be doubled. He spoke out against stopping the import of fossil energy from Russia.
